Responsibilities
Define and guide the team’s overall mechanical design philosophy and approach for factory automation projects
Review and approve system designs, ensuring alignment with performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, controls, project management, and operations) to ensure designs are integrated and optimized
Lead design reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to drive continuous improvement
Establish and enforce mechanical engineering standards, CAD practices, documentation protocols, and version control
Promote a culture of quality, safety, and reliability in all engineering outputs
Introduce and maintain design processes that improve efficiency and consistency across projects
Stay up to date on industry innovations, materials, and methods to ensure designs remain cutting-edge
Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, fostering technical growth and career development
Allocate resources effectively and balance workloads to meet project deadlines
Monitor progress, resolve roadblocks, and adjust priorities as needed to keep projects on track
Partner with project managers to ensure engineering deliverables align with project timelines and budgets
Promote open communication and collaboration across the engineering team and the broader organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
7+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or senior technical role
Strong background in machine design, automation systems, robotics, or related equipment
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and PDM systems
Demonstrated ability to establish best practices and streamline engineering processes
Strong organizational skills with proven success in delivering projects on time
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
