Responsibilities

Provide technical support and documentation for ship feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, integration, stability analysis, hydrodynamic and seakeeping properties
Evaluate systems and equipment, develop and analyze requirements, perform studies and documentation relating to hull form, stability, weights, structures, and design
Develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets and boats, perform structural analysis and design using ISO and class society standards
Conduct analyses on stability studies, assist with inclining experiments and weight and stability tests, and oversee design development

Required

Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or another relevant technical, engineering, or a marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution
At least three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in naval architecture
Experience with computer applications relating to naval architecture and ship design
Experience with corrosion principles of metals for surface assets and boats
Familiarity with USN, USCG, IACS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations
Proficient with common productivity software
Strong communications skills
This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must either already possess an active or interim Secret security clearance (preferred); OR be eligible for a Secret security clearance upon hire

Preferred

Ideal experience will have been obtained in U.S. Federal or commercial ship or boat building acquisition programs
Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs
Experience with RhinoCAD, Ship Constructor, GHS, MaxSurf, Shipweight
