Responsibilities
Lead the interior design and cabinetry layout process for residential remodeling projects (primarily kitchens & bathrooms)
Conduct client consultations to understand project needs, budgets, and style preferences
Develop space plans, detailed cabinetry elevations, and millwork drawings
Create high-quality 3D renderings and presentation decks
Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, and trade professionals to execute design intent
Attend site visits to take measurements, verify progress, and resolve design-related field issues
Manage timelines and budgets related to design deliverables
Stay current with cabinetry trends, NKBA standards, ADA codes, and sustainable practices
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in residential interior design with a specialization in kitchen and bath cabinetry
Proficiency in cabinetry layout software such as Chief Architect, 20/20, Cabinet Vision, SketchUp, or AutoCAD
Deep knowledge of spatial planning, color theory, cabinetry construction, and millwork detailing
Experience with construction documentation and coordination with contractors
Strong communication and client presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Preferred
NKBA certification or working knowledge of NKBA guidelines
Experience with luxury residential remodels or high-end design-build firms
Familiarity with Chief Architect
Understanding of ADA codes, building codes, and permit processes for residential interiors
