Amazon is launching an initiative called Amazon Leo to provide broadband connectivity via Low Earth Orbit satellites. They are seeking a lawyer to join the legal team, focusing on regulatory and operational legal counsel related to satellite communications and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel on a range of regulatory issues and operations related to satellite-based broadband services and cybersecurity, including those associated with regulations related to access to data and cybersecurity incident response
Work with LEO's technical teams, public policy team, and other stakeholders throughout Amazon to strategize and advise on the constellation of regulatory issues involved in designing and building a global satellite network
Qualification
Required
5+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience with compliance and regulatory regimes, including at least some experience handling security and/or cybersecurity matters
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, oral)
Ability to travel as needed
Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment
Ability to work independently while contributing successfully to cross-functional teams
