Principal Electrical Engineer

They are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced power conversion circuits and associated analog designs for Electronic Warfare and Radar Warning Receiver products.

Responsibilities
Generate related requirements documents and testing requirements
Familiar with the latest technology trends in high voltage and/or high current DC/DC and multiphase AC/DC power conversion, switching power supply topologies, high voltage control loop design and stability analysis, high voltage component specification and selection, and general mixed signal circuit design and analysis
Work in a product development team environment with other electrical, mechanical, and system engineers
Provide technical expertise and leadership to other staff
Act as cross-discipline independent product team lead (IPTL) or Responsible Engineer Authority (REA) for multiple projects and power supply module designs
Participate in product planning efforts including technology definition, specification creation, workload planning, and costing calculations
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of experience in power conversion design and testing, mixed signal design, and digital design, or 5 years with a related Master's degree focusing on power supply and analog design
Experience with power system design and analysis tools (SPICE, SIMPLIS, schematic/layout design software, MATLAB/Simulink, ADS, Hyperlynx PI)
Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics
Experience in testing electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, power supply stability testers, spectrum analyzers, and debugging tools
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Experience designing airborne electronic products with attendant size, weight, power, and cost requirements
Electrical design and analysis with Mentor Graphics XPedition and HyperLynx
Experience with design of high voltage and high current power conversion circuit assemblies including specification and selection of PCB materials, high voltage/high current transformers, inductors, and FETs, as well as implementing ADCs, DACs, and supporting analog circuits
Experience with various switched-mode power supply topologies and modeling
Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry
Ability to handle fast paced and dynamic product development environment
Capable technical leader with good management and interpersonal skills
Good written/verbal English communication skills
