Human Resources Manager

Modine Manufacturing Company is engineering a cleaner, healthier world and is seeking a proactive and strategic HR Manager for their new manufacturing facility. The HR Manager will lead all HR activities related to the start-up, focusing on workforce development, community partnerships, and building a high-performing work culture.

Responsibilities

Lead all HR activities related to the start-up of a new manufacturing facility, including staffing strategy, recruitment, and onboarding
Develop and implement staffing plans to meet ramp-up schedules and production goals
Partner with hiring managers to source, screen, and select candidates for a variety of roles, from hourly to production to salaried staff
Establish strong partnerships with local high schools, trade schools, colleges, and workforce development organizations
Build and maintain a pipeline of entry-level and skilled candidates through community outreach, job fairs, internship/co-op/apprenticeship programs, and career awareness initiatives
Design and implement site-specific HR policies, procedures, and compliance programs in alignment with company standards and legal requirements
Serve as a culture Champion by fostering a positive, inclusive, and safety-first work environment
Provide guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development
Partner with leadership on compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to attract and retain talent
Establish systems and tools for tracking HR metrics, compliance, and employee engagement

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
5+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong recruiting and talent acquisition skills, especially in building hourly and skilled labor teams
Proven ability to build relationships with external partners such as schools and community organizations
In-depth knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, and constantly evolving environment

Preferred

Experience supporting or leading HR for a plant start-up or high-growth operation is strongly preferred
