Responsibilities

Operates the Archive Manager and knows the proper way to transfer the digital images to the Archive Manager
Demonstrates knowledge of how to use the quantitative analysis on the Philips equipment
Correctly and accurately sets-up Phillips X-Ray equipment for Cardiac Cath procedure
Understands and correctly uses all settings on the Phillips equipment
Operates med-rad injector (set-up, flow rates and rise settings)
Demonstrates knowledge of different angles of II
Demonstrates knowledge of set-up and use of the Ultrasound, Rotoblator, Angiojet, Pressure Wire equipment
Operates the Vercis workstation and can transfer all angiographic cases accurately
Thorough knowledge of and accurately documents all cardiovascular procedures and patient assessment
Demonstrates proficiency in physiologic recording of LHC, R&LHC, Swan insertion, temporary pacemaker, EP, PTCA procedures
Demonstrates the ability to interpret basic cardiac dysrhythmias
Demonstrates presidency in trouble shooting of the physiological monitoring system when necessary
Obtains accurate patient information (labs, H&P, consents)
Knowledge of correct procedure to follow in an emergent situation. (i.e., 77, notification of support personnel as needed)
Operates and accurately documents blood sugars during cardiac procedures with the glucometer in the Cath Labs
Performs Daily check of correct transfer of all images to digital storage
Ability to troubleshoot error messages on Philips X-ray / and digital storage
Knows the proper way to call Philips service for problems / Maintenance
Maintains Radiation Protection equipment annually, Aprons, Thyroid Collars, Glasses
Maintains monthly film badges for all CCL personnel
Covers and maintains flexibility to cover emergency call shift
Maintains cardiovascular certification (i.e., CCT, RCIS)
Maintains cardiovascular certification, (i.e., CCT, RCIS), participates in education and training of new staff members
Maintains ACLS and BLS
Completes house wide skills and Cath Lab specific skills
Maintains current State and National Registration for Radiologic Technologists
Responsible for accumulating continuous education credits to retain professional licensure
Attends 80 % of the unit meetings and is responsible for 100% of the information shared at meetings
Demonstrates the ability to prepare patient for cardiovascular procedure by shaving area and prepping site using aseptic technique
Demonstrates the ability to drape patient for cardiovascular procedure
Demonstrates the ability to complete patient hook up to monitoring system, SAT monitor and NIBP system
Thorough knowledge of cardiovascular procedures to perform patient education as required
Familiar with location of supplies in Cath Lab suite and storage room
Demonstrates the ability to interpret basic cardiac dysrhythmia
Assists in stocking room each morning and in restocking the room when necessary
Assists with inventory processes as requested
Demonstrates the ability to accurately document all information, relative to the case. Assists with room turn-around
Demonstrates an understanding of proper sterile technique relative to all cardiovascular procedures
Thorough knowledge and practice of proper handling of sterile supplies and equipment
Demonstrates the ability to perform a surgical scrub for cardiovascular procedures
Demonstrates proper tray prep for all cardiovascular procedures, to include: LHC, R&LHC, Swan ganz, A-line, Temporary Pacemaker, PTCA
Demonstrates proper technique of injecting coronary arteries with contrast
Thorough knowledge of proper handling of catheters, wires, sheath, with proper aspiration of flushing of catheters and sheaths
Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to connect A-lines to pressure monitoring systems of Cath Lab
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to remove A-lines and venous sheaths
Demonstrates thorough knowledge and the proficiency to scrub: LHC, R&LHC, Swan ganz placement and temporary pacemaker, EP cases, IVUS, Rotablator
Performs the proper Preparation and Handling of all equipment used during a PTCA procedure
Completes other job-related duties and projects as assigned
Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared
Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes
Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes
Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year
Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department
Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self
Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance
Complies with established organization and department policies
Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required

Required

Successful completion of an associate degree or Professional Training
AART certified
ISBH General Certification required
Interventional Registry required
One to two years of experience as a Special Procedures Radiographer desired
Two to five years of experience as a Staff Radiographer preferred
Position patients
Practice aseptic techniques
Knowledge of catheters and interventional items
Knowledge of contrast media
Be able to operate all standard radiographic and special procedure equipment
Knowledge of Radiology Computer System
Works in a hospital and patient care environment
Must be able to participate in department call rotation
Must be able to report to work location within 30 minutes when On Call
Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e., to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position
