Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and implement custom ABAP programs and interfaces to enhance SAP functionality based on business requirements
Collaborate closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Provide expert guidance on SAP ABAP development standards and best practices
Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system solutions
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize SAP programs to improve performance and ensure seamless system integration
Mentor and provide technical support to junior ABAP developers, fostering a collaborative and learning-driven environment
Stay updated on the latest SAP technologies and methodologies, including SAP S/4HANA, to provide strategic insights and recommendations
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all development activities, including technical specifications and test scripts
Lead and manage project initiatives to deliver solutions on time and within budget
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
Strong expertise in ABAP programming, including object-oriented programming, SAP enhancements (BADI, BAPI, User Exits), and Smart Forms
Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, OData, and CDS views
In-depth knowledge of SAP modules and their integration points
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience leading projects and mentoring junior team members
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; SAP certifications are a plus
Preferred
Experience with SAP Cloud Platform and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies in SAP environments
Experience with SAP HANA database and performance optimization techniques
Advanced SAP certifications, such as SAP Certified Development Professional – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.5 or SAP Certified Development Specialist – ABAP for SAP HANA
Prior experience working in diverse industries, such as manufacturing, finance, or retail, and understanding their specific SAP requirements
Proficiency in other programming languages and technologies, such as JavaScript, Java, or Python, that integrate with SAP systems
