Internship Opportunities - Summer 2026 - Youth Advocacy Division - Statewide
The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) is seeking applicants for Summer 2026 internship positions within its Youth Advocacy Division. Interns will work alongside lawyers to provide zealous legal representation for juveniles, assisting with legal research, court advocacy, and community resource referrals.

Responsibilities
Assist lawyers and work closely with social workers to represent juveniles
Conduct legal research and writing
Engage in arraignment and bail advocacy
Perform pretrial investigations including visiting crime scenes and locating and interviewing witnesses
Assist Youth Advocacy Division Appellate attorneys with direct appeals and screenings
Participate in policy discussions and help develop and implement trainings
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated commitment to the principle of zealous advocacy, community-oriented defense, and the protection of fundamental constitutional and human rights
Access to reliable transportation in order to travel to courts, clients, and investigation locations that are not easily accessible by public transportation
Access to a personal computer with home internet access sufficient to work remotely
