Lead Solution Architect - Space Operations

They are seeking a Lead Solution Architect to support growth opportunities within the US National Mission Space community, responsible for leading the design of technical and cost-effective mission relevant solutions for proposals related to space operations.

Responsibilities

Being responsible for leading teams of solution professionals and technical subject matter experts in the development of integrated, cost-effective solutions for inclusion in proposal responses that meet the customer's requirements and maximize Peraton's competitive advantage
Leading the technical solution development, participates in the competitive costing, and business case alignment of Peraton solutions to the Government client's proposal requirements
Overseeing the creation and the documentation of the technical solution, plus participates in the development of the costing of the solution for insertion into a proposal response to a government client. The ability to collaborate effectively with the appropriate Peraton business leaders and their teams to design the solution and agree on key solution costing parameters activities is key
Working closely with business development, delivery accounts and corporate offerings teams to determine the overall technical solution strategy and approach to align to the customer's objectives and requirements, including merging industry point of view with broad technical knowledge and mission understanding to generate value propositions and approaches to solve Government customer challenges
Establishing strong relationships with Peraton partners to drive high quality solutions and compelling value propositions
Confidently articulating all aspects of the technical and management solution during governance reviews with senior Peraton management, identifying and evaluating solution risks and creating strategies and plans to mitigate those risks

Required

A minimum requirement of 8+ years of experience with a BS/BA, 6+ YOE with a MS/MA, or 3 YOE with a Ph.D. 4 years of additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors' degree
A proven self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently and in team settings to include close collaboration with technical subject matter experts, program managers, proposal and capture managers, and business development teams to determine and solution to customer requirements in complex and often ambiguous environments
3+ years of experience developing successful technical solutions for large, complex opportunities/proposal submissions for US Government customers - specifically the NRO, US Space Force, Space Development Agency, or similar agencies
5+ years of experience working with US Space Force, Air Force, NRO agency or similar Mission Space customers on Mission space environments, satellites, and the associated ground, launch and tracking activities, and associated architecture and tools (hardware and software)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated expert level knowledge across a broad range of mission focused, and/or technology services and solutions, coupled with a strong focus and high understanding of the Mission Space and Intelligence Community
A proven track record of delivering end-to-end mission value to program sponsors specific to the IC and Space community, while understanding the unique needs of Enterprise support vs. Mission support
Ability to clearly translate the benefits of our approach to specific levels of seniority within the sponsor teams (strategic vs. tactical)
This role may occasionally require out-of-area travel (< 10%). Most required travel will be within the immediate NoVA footprint- Candidates for this role should live within ~30 miles (or ~50 commuting minutes) of our Chantilly, Herndon, or Reston, VA offices, with the ability to be on location between 9am and 5pm ET Monday through Friday, to support classified and unclassified proposal activities and deliverables
An active/current Top Secret clearance, with SCI eligibility and US Citizenship is required for this role

Preferred

A degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in aeronautic engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, systems engineering, information technology, or a related field is highly preferred
Demonstrated understanding of the unique needs of Enterprise support vs Mission support
3+ years of Model Based Systems Engineering activities related to scheduling and/or modeling
Analytical aptitude to evaluate and fuse multiple inputs and synthesize a winning technical solution
An active/current Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph is desired
A mature network of Space industry contacts to include government, OEMs, and large and small businesses
An ability to translate innovation and R&D into differentiated solutions for customers working with company technology leadership

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
