Responsibilities
Perform and lead engineering design tasks for roadway projects from conceptual design to final design
Develop civil design of multi-modal transportation projects per Caltrans, AASHTO and other applicable design standards
Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
Prepare final bid packages, design-build packages, and bridging documents
Possess excellent in-depth knowledge of roadway design software tools including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Inroads
Mentor and develop new engineers in transportation and roadway design
Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects
Manage day-to-day activities of projects including interagency coordination, technical review, and other related activities
Assists in preparing reports, plans, and studies
Assists in developing proposals, presentations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering
In depth knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
7 plus years of experience
Strong technical design background in highway and local roadway design and transportation engineering
Experience with local City and County agency standards and projects
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Preferred
Preferably in civil, transportation or environmental engineering
