Zachry Group is seeking an Engineer III Electrical to perform engineering and design activities related to power plant upgrades and projects. The successful candidate will assist with calculations, modifications, and designs while working under the supervision of senior engineering staff to improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff

Assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs

Possess technical knowledge of the electrical discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers

Assist with evaluating conditions, proposing modifications, and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability

Required

BS in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university

5 years (minimum) experience in electrical engineering

Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems (switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, etc.) and familiarity with electrical load flow, voltage drop, and short circuit calculation methodology

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Presentation skills

Proficiency in Mathcad, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Effective time management skills

Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted commercial nuclear power plant access

Ability to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes

Overtime work is required at times

Travel to client sites required with periods of on-site field/office work

Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas
