ACCOUNTANT V (SYSTEMS) - DOWNTOWN, OAHU
NEOGOV is seeking an ACCOUNTANT V in the Systems Accounting Branch of the Department of Accounting and General Services. The role involves conducting analyses and participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the statewide central accounting system to meet fiscal control and reporting needs.

Ensure consistency with fiscal control, recordkeeping, and reporting needs of individual departments and the central accounting agency
Qualification
Required
Legal Authorization to Work Requirement: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States
Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects
Accounting Experience: Three and one-half (3 1/2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting at the university level
Systems Accounting Experience: Two years of systems accounting work experience in one or a combination of the following areas: A. Experience as a member of a project team for the development and/or implementation of a major, integrated accounting system or experience as a member of a project team concerned with the major analysis of existing accounting procedures, operations and subsystems and developing and/or implementing changes to establish a major integrated system; or B. Experience which involved responsibility for or participation in, the maintenance and control of the accounting system for a large business entity through the analysis and resolution of accounting problems through systems improvements and changes, provision of advice to operations or fund control accountants regarding the system or in the establishment of subsystems; or C. Other professional accounting or auditing experience which involved responsibility for identifying accounting problems and recommending changes and improvements requiring the modification of an organization-wide accounting system
Supervisory Aptitude: Demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, e.g., by serving as a group or team leader, by the completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments; and/or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential

Possession of a valid Hawaii CPA license is NOT a requirement but may be given extra consideration in our review
