Construction Manager/Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing)
Davenergy Solutions is a rapidly growing, profitable company, headquartered in San Diego, CA. They are seeking a full-time Construction Manager/Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing) to serve as the Owner’s Representative at the Dallas VA Medical Center, overseeing the construction and renovation of healthcare facilities. The role involves on-site construction management, quality assurance, and coordination to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities
Strong working knowledge of commercial and healthcare mechanical construction, with specialized expertise in plumbing systems
Demonstrated knowledge of hospital plumbing systems including, but not limited to underground mechanical installations, domestic water and sanitary systems, medical gas systems, steam and condensate systems, chilled water and hydronic systems
Ability to inspect mechanical and plumbing work for compliance with contract documents, specifications, codes, and industry standards
Ability to review contractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings and identify constructability, coordination, sequencing, and compliance issues
Working knowledge of applicable building, life-safety, safety, and environmental codes and regulations
Familiarity with federal or government construction processes, documentation standards, and quality assurance practices
Ability to prepare clear, accurate field documentation, including inspection reports, deficiency logs, progress summaries, and photographic records
Ability to support cost estimating and quantity take-offs for mechanical and plumbing contract modifications
Proficiency with construction management, field inspection, and standard office software used to document, track, and report project information
Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with Government and Contractor personnel
Qualification

Minimum of six (6) years of experience practicing mechanical engineering with a strong focus on plumbing systems
Minimum of six (6) years of experience inspecting mechanical and plumbing construction work
Experience supporting construction management, quality control, or quality assurance services on commercial, institutional, healthcare, or federal projects
Demonstrated experience resolving unforeseen site or design conditions and proposing technically sound, cost-effective solutions
Experience conducting inspections to identify deficiencies, workmanship issues, and compliance concerns in active construction environments
Experience reviewing design and construction documents and verifying conformance with existing site conditions
The CM-MP shall be a professional with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with Specialization in Plumbing from an accredited institution of higher learning
The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction of plumbing & water systems
Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy
Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills
Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ladders, and access construction personnel hoists
Ability to safely navigate active construction sites, including uneven terrain and partially completed work areas
Regular exposure to construction environments, including moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, airborne dust, fumes, outdoor weather conditions, and potential electrical hazards
Ability to occasionally lift and carry equipment weighing 10–25 pounds
Preferred
Healthcare construction experience is preferred; comparable institutional or federal experience is acceptable
