Intern - Fisheries Management (Summer)
The State of South Dakota is seeking an Intern for Fisheries Management for the summer session. The role involves assisting fisheries managers and biologists with various management and research activities related to Missouri River reservoirs.

Responsibilities
Assist fisheries managers and biologists with management and research activities on Missouri River reservoirs
Assist in fish spawning and stocking operations, fish population sampling using gill nets, trap nets, seines and electrofishing, and angler use and harvest surveys
Assist with data entry and equipment maintenance
Operation and maintenance of boats, motors, and trailers, basic vehicle and equipment maintenance
Qualification
Required
Applicant must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
