Responsibilities
Facilitates the development, modification and adherence of the UH EPIC EMR system wide clinical reporting strategy. This includes defining the scope of clinical reporting, developing a report request, approval and prioritization processes, creation of the EPIC report using the hospitals implemented Epic Tools and monitoring report creation queues
Develops reporting solutions and/or ad hoc data analysis to support the needs of clinical decision makers across the system
Researches, analyzes and understands clinical flow in order to facilitate clinical report writing and support of other clinical report writers
Serves as an information consultant to system teams as required and actively promotes Information Management as a systemwide resource
Interacts with users and other technical areas to gather requirements and compiles data
Develops documentation, formulates and applies policies and procedures
Performs systems tuning, monitoring and trend analysis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in health related discipline, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
Three (3) years of experience in information systems with preference given to candidates from a patient care environment
Strong detail oriented and organizational skills, demonstrates interpersonal skills working in a service oriented environment
Effective oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving and capable of functioning in a team environment are a must
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements
Preferred
Direct experience with electronic medical records is preferred. Two (2) years of experience in clinical analysis and/or clinical report creation preferred
Experience with Business Objects Crystal Report Writer is preferred
