Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist

OHSU School of Dentistry is seeking a Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist for the Doernbecher Operating Room, which provides surgical services to pediatric patients. The role involves assisting physicians during procedures, operating complex radiologic imaging equipment, and providing patient care while ensuring safety and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

Assists physician during cases while operating a variety of complex radiologic imaging equipment including fluoroscopy and ultrasonography within the Cardiac Cath Lab suite. This includes circulating in the procedure room, operating the imaging equipment in both adult and congenital procedures. Cross train to another service area (EP, Hybrid OR, etc)
Prep the patient and prepare supplies under sterile conditions for the procedure. Scrub in with the physician and assist in performing procedure. Ability to use fine motor skills with prepping supplies and equipment, including but not limited to, threading stents and balloons on wires
Accurately obtains x-rays for the exams while being respectful to the patient’s abilities and safety issues
Operates automatic injectors and selects the appropriate contrast agent for the patient and the exam under the direction of the physician
In collaboration with other staff, provides patient care during examinations. Responsible for equipment maintenance and use including, but not limited to, recognizing, troubleshooting, reporting, and documenting equipment malfunctions along with coordinating borrowing equipment from other departments
Work independently on-call with department physicians and nurse

Required

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
A valid Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging
OHSU approved Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Two years of experience in the operation of radiologic equipment or an equivalent combination of specialized training and experience

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
Pediatrics experience preferred
Cardiac Interventional and/or Vascular Interventional certification from ASRT (RCES or RCIS preferred)
EP/Cath Lab technologist knowledge, skills, and abilities
