Vascular Technologist
Bayhealth Medical Center is Central and Southern Delaware’s healthcare leader, seeking a Vascular Technologist to perform patient vascular diagnostic procedures. The role involves patient preparation, performing procedures, ensuring quality standards, maintaining equipment, and assisting other staff within the lab.

Responsibilities
Patient preparation: Instructs, explains and properly prepares patients for the ordered exam. a) Gathers appropriate patient history as related to exam. b) Assists patients in proper positioning for exam ordered
Performing Procedures: Utilization of job-related information, technical skills and procedures, including continuous quality improvement. Performs exams in accordance with standards and/or departmental procedures and protocols. a) Performs patient safety screening to ensure all safety precautions have been addressed prior to procedure. b) Performs all ordered tests following established protocols. c) Provides detailed preliminary reports per established guidelines
Quality: To monitor for technical Quality for assigned section by following “IAC Standards and Guidelines” for Vascular testing. a) Works with Vascular Lab IAC Medical Director to establish and maintain protocols. b) Reports established quality measures biannually and as needed to the Medical Director, Cardiology Manager and CV Ultrasound Supervisor. c) Maintain all pertinent logs and correlation materials to support accreditations. d) Prepares and submits application materials in accordance with IAC recommendations to maintain accreditation. G237 e) Completes audits as requested from IAC
Equipment: a) Report problems to Clinical Engineering to ensure that equipment is repaired and operational for scheduled and emergent cases. Inform management of reported problems. b) Reports problems to Information Technology to ensure that all computerized systems (PACS, Epic, etc.) are working as designed
Other Duties: a) Assists other staff as appropriate when they are working within the designated lab. b) Oversees scheduling of designated lab as related to lab functionality, working closely with schedulers and registrars
All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
General Studies
Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certificate Program
Basic Life Support
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Successful completion of a certification program and/or two years vascular ultrasound experience
Preferred
Associate degree Related field
Supervisory experience
Experience with IAC accreditation
