Responsibilities
Performs testing and reports results on laboratory specimens
Thoroughly, accurately and legibly documents test results and quality control
Demonstrates and uses the applicable computer systems
Listens well, takes direction and engages in interactive dialogues with others
Meets the diagnostic performance guideline established by the medical director
Prepares Cytologic specimens for analysis that will aid in the diagnosis/monitoring of disease
Performs maintenance and quality control procedures
Thoroughly and accurately enters specimen information and verifies patient demographics
Possesses ability to train new staff, cytotechnicians, students, and pathology residents
Qualification
Required
ASCP CT LICENSE
NYS LICENSE
Knowledge and anatomical laboratory experience
Ability to perform analyses of cytopathology specimens
Ability to exercise independent judgement and responsibility
Ability to perform testing and report results on laboratory specimens
Ability to thoroughly, accurately and legibly document test results and quality control
Ability to demonstrate and use applicable computer systems
Ability to listen well, take direction and engage in interactive dialogues with others
