The Senior Financial Analyst will act as a strategic finance partner, providing high-impact analysis and insights to support organizational decision-making and drive performance.

Responsibilities

Partner with business leaders across departments to provide financial guidance, challenge assumptions, and support strategic initiatives

Lead financial analysis of business performance, including revenue, margin, and expense trends

Develop and maintain complex financial models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and investment decisions

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting packages with clear variance explanations and actionable insights

Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and operational teams to align financial reporting with business needs

Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in reporting and analytics workflows

Support annual budgeting and long-range planning cycles, including consolidation and executive-level presentations

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively surface risks and opportunities to leadership

Contribute to cross-functional projects, including system implementations, cost optimization efforts, and strategic planning

Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred

3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, business analytics, or corporate finance. Retail experience a plus!

Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and business operations

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (modeling, pivot tables, lookups); experience with Power BI, or similar tools preferred

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., D365, JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting platforms

Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and present to senior leadership

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions

Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipment's 12 Core Competencies

Preferred

MBA or advanced degree preferred

Retail experience a plus!

Experience with Power BI, or similar tools preferred
