Central Kitchen Delicatessen Assistant Section Manager
MARUKAI CORPORATION is seeking an Assistant Section Manager for their central kitchen. The role involves leading a team to promote merchandise, ensuring operational efficiency and achieving business goals related to revenue, customer satisfaction, and employee morale.

Responsibilities
Keep the store clean and neat is the essential responsibility for all Marukai employees
Provide friendly and helpful customer service if you are encounter with customers in the store
Properly wear and use company provide Personal Protective Equipment such as uniform / vest, apron, mask, gloves, hat, hair net, and others
Based on the assignment, you might need to handle Deli, Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Sushi, and or other perishable products
Based on the assignment, you need handle different tools and equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife, wrapper, grinder, and or other necessary items to cook and prep
Work with Merchandise team and your Department Lead and collaborate with store operation team about store floor change
Be responsible for department inventory level and deliveries, including order placement, receiving, returning, quality checking and invoice review
Work closely with Section Manager & Department Leaders, design and present the work schedules for the team members
Be responsible for the department report including product movement total, sales performance, inventory, labor cost and others
Train and develop team members for the knowledge of merchandise and operations
Follow supervisor’s instructions and company policy and procedures
Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure
Provide specific instructions for operations and staffing based on the operation plan (per work period). In addition, if necessary, prepare an operation plan and manage overtime and other work as needed, in cooperation with the section manager. (Obligation to report to supervisor)

Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years of team member experience on the related positions, and at least 1-year direct team management and product management experience. Process center, factory, or Large grocery retail store experience will be plus

Extensive knowledge of Specialty products

Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures

Demonstrate decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate
Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
California State Driver's License
Possesses a food handling license
Possesses a forklift operating license
Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a 'Certified Food Safety Manager' or will be required to attend company paid training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment. Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position in which it is required
Speak, Read and Write English fluently is must
Preferred
Spanish bilingual skill will be a BIG plus
