Responsibilities

Implement technical vision and strategies
Consult on internal projects and initiatives, researching and recommending leading-edge-technology solutions
Abstract and apply new technologies and relay processes
Work as a member of the network’s engineering team and the division’s technology team to implement state of the art technical facilities
Ensure all equipment is FCC compliant
Stay knowledgeable of competition and important emerging technologies and standards
Monitor and report on the progress of the department and all technical projects towards the company's engineering goals and communicates feedback and analyses into actionable insight
Mentor team members
Respond to employees’ requests regarding tools and resources they need for their job
Determine solutions through process improvements with existing technology or purchasing new equipment
Identify solutions where new equipment may result in savings to the company
Examine all solutions to ensure implementation of process improvement and/or new equipment is cost efficient
Act as technical quality supervisor for studio productions, live events, remote feeds, etc
Adjust, align and integrate all elements of truck equipment inventory to provide a mobile production facility as required by events; Elements include but are not limited to: camera, lenses, video servers and other video recording devices
Read and understand signal flow diagrams
Understand, configure and maintain broadcast transmission including audio, video, and fiber systems. Understand video and audio file formats and structures for both import and export to post-production and IP-delivered sources and destinations
Participate in evaluating and recommending solutions
Fill in as necessary in different production roles (ie, camera operator, graphics, replay, etc.)
Help with basic operational training when required
Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Computer Science or relevant production experience required
Experience with video technologies
Familiarity with Digital Rights Management
Experience with MPEG2 Transport Stream
Good communicator, able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies understandably and engagingly
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership
Ability to prepare and present to executive level
Experience driving large trucks and/or towing
