Responsibilities

Performs screening and diagnostic mammography, and bone density
Must also perform specialized breast biopsies to include stereotactic breast biopsies and needle/savi localization under the direction of a qualified physician
Ensures that quality control as required under the ACR (American College of Radiology) and MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) is being met
Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee and physician satisfaction
Participates in performance improvement initiatives
Participates in staff/student orientation training

Qualification

ARRT certification in radiologyARRT certification in mammographyFlorida Radiologic Technology licenseMammography experienceBone Densitometry certificationContinuing education in mammographyRadiologic technology degree

Required

Two years formal education in a hospital-based program or associates degree in radiologic technology
One year experience in mammography related services
ARRT certification in radiology
ARRT certification in mammography
Documentation and completions of 40 hours of mammographic continuing education required by MQSA after April 28, 1999
Florida Radiologic Technology license

Preferred

ARRT Registered or certification in Bone Densitometry
