Chief Technology Officer

Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal departments to develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap that aligns with organizational goals and evolving service needs
Communicate business and technology alignment strategies to executive leadership, staff, stakeholders, partners, and constituents to ensure transparency and shared vision
Lead the integration and management of cloud and hybrid infrastructure strategies, focusing on scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency to meet the County’s operational demands
Identify and champion opportunities to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance public service delivery
Assess and communicate risks associated with technology investments, ensuring strategic decision-making in alignment with organizational priorities and fiscal responsibility
Develop strong business case justifications and conduct cost/benefit analyses to support funding for major technology initiatives and capital projects
Qualification
Required
Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
Have had at least ten (10) years of full-time work experience leading and managing IT organizations and professional technical staff members in the areas of Enterprise / Solutions Architecture, Infrastructure Management or Artificial Intelligence
Preferred
Possess one or more of the following professional IT process/methodology certification(s): AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect or related certification
Have strategic prioritization and execution skills. Adept at setting and managing priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while navigating complex challenges
Are skilled in translating ideas across audiences. Effectively communicates complex technical ideas in a way that resonates with diverse audiences, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
