Responsibilities

Inspect, evaluate, analyze, and design a variety of marine, waterfront, port, and harbor structures, facilities, and infrastructure
Support waterfront stabilization and resiliency projects that involve wind, wave, current, tide, flood, sea level rise, mooring, berthing, and seismic loads
Prepare calculations for project components that may include concrete, steel, aluminum, composite, and timber elements
Prepare technical reports
Develop construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates
Provide construction administration and field observation
Assist with training, mentoring, and managing junior staff and interns
Assist in proposal development and business development efforts

Qualification

M.S. in Civil EngineeringWaterfront Engineering ExperienceRegistered Professional EngineerASCE MOP 130ASCE 61PIANC GuidelinesAnalytical SkillsCommunication SkillsProblem-Solving AbilityAttention to Detail

Required

M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, Coastal, or Ocean Engineering required
4+ years of experience in waterfront/marine/port/ocean engineering
Registered professional engineer in the United States, or ability to obtain within 12 months of joining SGH
Communication skills: excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills; Ability to convey information to internal and external clients clearly
Problem-solving ability: capability to solve minor or complex problems using data, logic, and judgment. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
Ability to travel for client meetings and business development, including some overnight travel

Preferred

Experience with ASCE MOP 130
Experience with ASCE 61
Experience with PIANC Guidelines
