Senior EHS Specialist - Pressure Systems/Engine Testing

Responsibilities

Serve as the EHS lead embedded with engineering and operations teams
Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement control measures for high-pressure and high-energy testing environments
Build out safety processes and programs for test stands based on on-site observations and identified gaps
Balance time approximately 50/50 between program development and on-site support, initially focusing on on-site presence to understand processes and issues
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, providing actionable recommendations
Develop, implement, and enforce safety procedures, protocols, and best practices for engine testing activities
Delivering safety training specific to pressure systems, engine testing, and related hazards
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure safe project execution

Required

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of progressive EHS experience, including pressure systems, engine testing, or high-energy mechanical systems
Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, ASME, and related safety standards
Proven experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analysis, and incident investigations in complex technical environments
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Hands-on, proactive problem solver who thrives in the field and collaborates effectively across teams
Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi

Preferred

Relevant certifications preferred: CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30/General Industry
Experience with high-pressure systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, or gas-based) in industrial or test environments
Knowledge of engine testing protocols and mechanical safety hazards
Ability to develop and deliver specialized safety training for technical teams
Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
