Senior Trust Officer
The Agency is a highly regarded community bank seeking an experienced Senior Trust Advisor to join its growing wealth management team. The role involves overseeing a sophisticated portfolio of trust and estate accounts while providing tailored fiduciary services and strategic estate planning guidance to high-net-worth clients.
Responsibilities
Administer a diverse book of complex trust and fiduciary accounts, ensuring strict adherence to governing documents and fiduciary standards
Interpret and implement trust and estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, charitable trusts, and generation-skipping trusts
Serve as the primary advisor to assigned clients, building and maintaining long-term relationships founded on trust, integrity, and service
Identify client needs and recommend tailored fiduciary, investment, and wealth planning strategies in alignment with client goals
Provide guidance on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies in collaboration with legal, tax, and investment professionals
Stay current with changes in estate, tax, and fiduciary law to ensure proactive client advice and regulatory compliance
Ensure all trust and fiduciary activities comply with applicable laws, regulatory standards, and internal policies
Participate in audits, risk reviews, and compliance initiatives as necessary
Work cross-functionally with financial planners, investment officers, legal counsel, and other advisors to deliver a seamless client experience
Support the professional development of junior team members through mentorship and knowledge sharing
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
7–10+ years in trust administration, estate planning, or private wealth management with a focus on high-net-worth clientele
In-depth understanding of fiduciary principles, estate and tax law, and wealth transfer strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of discretion and professionalism
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred
JD, MBA, or similar advanced degree preferred
CTFA (Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor), CFP®, or comparable designation strongly preferred
Experience with trust accounting and CRM systems is a plus
Proven track record of cultivating, retaining, and expanding client relationships
Experience advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
