Responsibilities

Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, to meet the unique needs of our thriving business operations
Support the Sales department in ensuring smooth daily operations, ensuring compliance with all Shaner Hotels, franchise, and hotel/departmental policies and procedures
Develop an in-depth understanding of current customer needs, focusing on key segments like corporations, agencies, associations, tour operations, sports teams, and other large groups. You’ll be at the forefront of delivering tailored hotel services!
Help identify and execute strategies to pursue new business and market segments, driving occupancy and growth for the hotel
Design special packages, promotions, and targeted advertising campaigns (via print, billboards, direct mail, etc.) to boost occupancy during slower periods
Represent the hotel at trade shows, chamber of commerce events, civic gatherings, and more, strengthening local connections and building the hotel’s brand presence
Ensure seamless communication with the General Manager, Department Managers, and other team members to maintain high levels of collaboration and efficiency
You’ll handle other tasks as needed to help our Sales team achieve their goals and enhance the guest experience

Qualification

Required

Progressive sales experience, ideally within the hospitality industry, is a must
Proven track record of driving revenue and securing long-term accounts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with guests, staff, and management
A high school diploma is required
Familiar with hotel operations and have a good understanding of sales and marketing tools
An understanding of the local economy and market trends is crucial
Knowledge of local attractions and activities
Familiar with Sales and Marketing tools, and able to use them to help meet or exceed business goals
Detail-oriented, with the ability to read and interpret various documents, such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and Banquet Event Orders (B.E.O.s)

Preferred

A college degree in hospitality management or business is preferred
If you're bilingual (English/Spanish), that's a definite plus!
