Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic studies utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and operation of PET/CT or PET/MR equipment for image acquisition and radiopharmaceutical distribution through organs, body functions and analyze biologic specimens
Performs diagnostic CT or MR and fusion of PET/CT or PET/MR images for physician interpretation
Treats patients with care and respect

Required

0-3 years of relevant experience
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning
Active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine, RT (NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): CNMT
Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, (NMTCB) within 18 months of hire, if working in PET CT
Advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance, RT(MR); or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) within 18 months of hire, if working in PET MR
Experience as a technologist working in Nuclear Medicine and as a registered CT or MR technologist, as appropriate per modality
Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Knowledge of PACS/RIS for training and problem resolution
Knowledge of anatomy; physiology; mathematics; chemistry; physics; biology; radiation safety; clinical nuclear instrumentation; computer operation and laboratory techniques
Excellent working knowledge of PET and CT or MR procedures, as appropriate per modality; the appropriate imaging protocols to be followed and in-vivo procedures
Strong understanding of the handling of radiopharmaceuticals during the receipt; storage; administration; and disposal process
Excellent working knowledge of imaging equipment and proper quality control criteria for each type of instrument being used
Knowledge of proper laboratory procedures and a strong understanding of all hospital; state and federal policies and regulations regarding the handling of radioactive materials; hazardous chemicals; and body fluids
