Department Chair of Women’s Health

AtlantiCare is southeastern New Jersey’s largest health system, seeking a transformative Department Chair of Women’s Health to lead its OB/GYN department. This role involves guiding a team of providers and shaping strategic direction for women’s health services in line with the organization’s Vision 2030 initiative, focusing on innovation and health equity.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative oversight of all clinical and operational activities in the OB/GYN department, including credentialing, performance management, and policy implementation
Lead the ambulatory women’s health practices with a focus on quality, patient access, safety, and provider engagement
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration with departments including MFM, NICU, oncology, FQHC, and primary care to ensure seamless and coordinated care
Oversee clinical performance, quality assurance, peer review, and continuous improvement across both inpatient and outpatient settings
Drive clinical teaching, faculty development and scholarly activity through the development of a new medical school
Participate in the establishment of an OB/GYN residency program
Champion the adoption of new technologies, including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, and digital health tools
Expand outreach initiatives, improve health equity, and address the unique needs of underserved communities in southeastern New Jersey

Required

Transformative leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in women's health or OB/GYN
Strong administrative oversight skills for clinical and operational activities
Experience in credentialing, performance management, and policy implementation
Ability to lead ambulatory women's health practices with a focus on quality, patient access, safety, and provider engagement
Experience promoting interdisciplinary collaboration with various departments
Proven track record in overseeing clinical performance, quality assurance, peer review, and continuous improvement
Experience in academic and educational leadership, including clinical teaching and faculty development
Ability to drive innovation and technology adoption in a healthcare setting
Commitment to expanding outreach initiatives and improving health equity

Preferred

Experience in establishing an OB/GYN residency program
Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgery and digital health tools
Experience working with underserved communities
