Responsibilities

Complete patient education regarding the exam and promote patient comfort
Perform diagnostic or screening mammograms, as ordered
Prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies
Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate
Perform quality control functions related to mammography
Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure techniques

Required

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a mammographer
Must possess two (2) years of experience in performing mammography QA under the MQSA Standard
Must be ARRT registered and a graduate of Radiologic Technology Program
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to work as a member of a team
Continually sets the example of professionalism, flexibility, and high levels of patient care
Must possess general knowledge of equipment, equipment location, and vendors
Responsible for keeping the site manager informed of any equipment problems
Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure techniques
Perform quality control functions related to mammography
