The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist to perform diagnostic testing related to sleep. The role involves conducting various sleep studies, preparing and calibrating equipment, and ensuring patient safety during testing procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs Multiple Sleep Latency Test, Maintenance of Wakefulness test, Parasomnia studies, PAP, Oxygen titration and collect appropriate data and compile for reading physician

Implements appropriate intervention necessary for the safety of the patients and therapeutic interventions such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressures and oxygen administration

Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper function

Notify Clinical Eng if service is required

Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted standards

Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments as necessary

Explains pre-testing, testing, post-testing procedures to patients in a form and manner necessary to demonstrate education

Arrives, registers, and discharges patients and performs all required documentation

Follows “light out’& “light on” procedures to establish and document base line values

Documents routine observations that meet standards and guidelines

Scoring sleep studies, if within scope of practice and with necessary certifications (RST, RPSGT, or SDS)
