Police Real Time Crime Center Analyst

NEOGOV is seeking a Police Real Time Crime Center Analyst to support law enforcement operations under the guidance of the Chief of Police. This role involves analyzing criminal intelligence, tracking crime trends, and assisting member agencies in real-time crime analysis.

Responsibilities

Gather, develop and organize criminal intelligence and submit reports
Functions as an agency representative in the Real Time Crime Center, assisting all member agencies
Review jail phone calls related to specific cases
Tracks and reports on general crime trends based on location, time of day and day of the week
Prepares crime-specific bulletins and distributes them as required
Serves as a liaison with the Northwest Florida Fusion Center to receive and transmit information
Attends meetings with external organizations related to the position
Uses technology such as camera systems and license plate readers to track in real-time
Prepares subpoenas for evidence collection
Understands how to purge stale information in accordance with Florida Statutes properly
Presents information and findings in group settings, including the ability to perform public speaking with groups of various sizes
Works various shifts
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

High school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
A valid Driver's license
Knowledge of City and department policies, rules and regulations
Knowledge of record keeping and file maintenance
Possess problem-solving skills to look beyond surface issues to identify, analyze and handle problems with little supervisory intervention and develop effective responses and solutions to resolve such problems
Ability to perform basic math calculations
Knowledge of data collection and analysis
Strong skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Ability to learn and utilize third-party software independently and efficiently
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, as well as prepare accurate, detailed and comprehensive reports
Ability to utilize sound independent judgment when making decisions and recommendations, as well as working independently with minimal supervision
Ability to obtain a working knowledge of police practices and terminology
Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, team-focused and effective relationships with team members, other agencies, other departments, leaders and the general public
Possess excellent time management skills and be able to organize, prioritize, schedule and manage daily work and special assignments

Preferred

Completion or pursuing a degree in Intelligence, Criminal Justice or related field preferred
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in crime analysis, law enforcement data analysis, or a related field preferred
