Responsibilities
Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms
Guides the patient to the appropriate level of care; schedules patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians
Documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems; records patients health conditions for follow-up patient care
Maintains and develops triage protocols; ensures patients' healthcare information is updated on time
Role does answer inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on department
Educate patients based on calls that come in
Qualification
Required
Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Ability to assess the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms
Ability to guide the patient to the appropriate level of care
Ability to schedule patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians
Ability to document information provided to patients during triage in health record systems
Ability to record patients health conditions for follow-up patient care
Ability to maintain and develop triage protocols
Ability to ensure patients' healthcare information is updated on time
Ability to answer inquiries through multiple variations of technology
Ability to educate patients based on calls that come in
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in nursing
Experience as a nurse
