Design new parts
Repairs, rebuilds or overhauls manufacturing equipment from instructions
Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools
Plan setups and operates typical machine shop tools, producing parts to tolerances of .003 to .001 inches. Uses typical machinist's hand tools
Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds and speed of machining
Selects materials and equipment necessary to fit and assemble parts into mechanical equipment
Responsible for conducting all works in a safe, clean and orderly manner
May perform other duties as requested
May participate on project teams as requested

Required

Repair, rebuild, or overhaul all types of production and/or mechanical equipment
Repair and/or manufacture machine parts
Design new parts
Repairs, rebuilds or overhauls manufacturing equipment from instructions
Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools
Plan setups and operates typical machine shop tools, producing parts to tolerances of .003 to .001 inches
Uses typical machinist's hand tools

5+ years Tool and Die experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Problem solving skills
Reading blueprints
Performing mathematical calculations
Ability to operate and maintain tool and die shop equipment including inspection tools, manual lathes and mills
Responsible for producing quality machined part by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) Machine
Maintain proper job documentation and assist with basic machine maintenance
Experience in programming Conversational and G code
Set up and operate machines to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data
Analyze specifications, laying out metal stock, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and machinist's hand tools
Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment that includes PLC Controlled machinery, hydraulic and mechanical presses and other various welding systems
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance
The employee is moderately required to stand, walk, or sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Occasional heavy lifting 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Firm grasping - the ability to exert sufficient grip to pick-up a case of 12 oz. soft drinks or to pick-up a bowling ball
Requires approximate grip strength of 45-60 lbs. on a hand dynamometer
Sufficient coordination to place and screw a small washer on a bolt, to pick-up clip from a desk top, or pick up a dime off a counter top
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
Ability to work in two (2) person teams
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near and/or with moving mechanical parts
The employee has moderate risk of electric shock
The employee occasionally works near fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration
The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud
