SAP Configuration Engineer IV

The United States Postal Service is seeking a SAP Configuration Engineer IV to lead the design and implementation of large-scale SAP software and database management integration projects. Responsibilities

Develops functional specifications and prototypes, implements data and function mapping changes, configuration tables, and process flows, and sets transaction control/tables to build SAP solutions that address business needs and align with organizational strategies
Designs technical configuration solutions that meet the needs of business stakeholders, organizational goals, and strategic plans. Implements configuration solutions and ensures that solutions adhere to IT specifications, such as internal policies and procedures for writing code and internal and external security requirements
Partners with business customers and product vendors to identify business requirements and needs. Evaluates architectural changes required to address business requirements and obtain quality outcomes. Ensures architectural strategy and business needs are aligned and provide value to the organization
Facilitates the design, development, and implementation of system solutions; establishes project objectives, provides status reports, tracks milestones and critical dates, and resolves scheduling issues. Provides program guidance to developers, contractors, and professional, technical or clerical personnel to ensure successful implementation
Reviews and evaluates SAP Configuration deliverables to ensure that standards are met. Provides feedback and recommendations to individual contributors to improve the quality of products delivered. Ensures that finished products meet business needs and align with organizational strategies
Collaborates with global SAP support team and business stakeholders to coordinate system changes in accordance with software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management standards, and industry best practices
Coordinates with HR security to design, develop, modify, and implement system access controls, including authorizations, data interface design, and user documentation, to ensure that HR systems are secure
Researches and maintains awareness of current and emerging SAP configuration methodologies, tools, and industry standards to identify opportunities for system enhancement and optimization. Evaluates features, functionalities, and integration capabilities new across SAP modules to ensure alignment with organizational requirements

Required

Ability to research trends, keep abreast of emerging technologies, understand and evaluate operational system advancements to provide appropriate recommendations to management
Ability to perform project and release management activities such as work breakdown, resource estimating, project planning, tracking/oversight, scheduling tasks, negotiating deliverables, project administration, status reporting, and measuring performance against planned objectives
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with senior leadership and stakeholders to present project plan proposals, provide project status updates, answer questions, solicit feedback and input, provide guidance and advice, facilitate cross-functional meetings, and mediate between groups with competing priorities
Ability to architect, design and configure solutions using SAP tools, transaction tables and/control tables to address business needs with effective technical solutions
Ability to lead cross-functional teams of employees engaged in large-scale projects involving the identification, evaluation, and implementation of business system solutions
Ability to draft, review and analyze initial plans, templates, drawings, and/or software documents to ensure continuity of product design configuration
Ability to apply information technology security principles, concepts, and practices to review and develop system solutions that adhere to internal and external policies
Ability to create and provide governance on implementation architecture, design principles, and data management to maintain alignment with internal and external policies and organizational strategies
Expertise in SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) and SuccessFactors product suites, coupled with hands-on experience utilizing AI-driven tools and solutions
Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the U.S. Postal Service's requirement to be drug free
