Research Advisory Services Unit Chief (Hybrid)
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking a Research Advisory Services Unit Chief to lead the Research Advisory Services Unit. This role involves supervising urgent research requests, supporting audit requests, and developing methodologies for health services research.

Responsibilities
Supervision and operation of the Research Advisory Services Unit (RASU)
Serves as the branch lead for urgent, high profile research requests
Confirming business requirements
Supporting Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services/Office of the Inspector General audit requests
Conducting bill analysis
Supporting the development and implementation of research/evaluation methodologies
Development of measure specifications
Calculation of performance metrics
Use of data management and governance processes associated with health services research
Qualification
Required
RESEARCH SCIENTIST SUPERVISOR I (SOCIAL/BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES)
RESEARCH SCIENTIST SUPERVISOR I (EPIDEMIOLOGY/BIOSTATISTICS)
Preferred
Experience with Medicaid claims and eligibility data systems
Knowledge of state and federal legislative requirements with regard to oversight and compliance
Experience with research, analysis, data management, and visualization of quantitative data
Experience supervising a research team
Experience and expertise with analytic software like: SAS, SQL, R Script, Python, and ArcGIS
Ability to design and implement health services research and data strategies
