Responsibilities

Serve as the technical authority for the design, architecture, and integration of advanced medical imaging platforms

Define and execute long-term technology roadmaps that align with company objectives and clinical needs

Drive system-level innovation across imaging algorithms, visualization tools, AI/ML integration, and cloud-based solutions

Lead high-level trade-off analyses and risk assessments to inform strategic design decisions

Collaborate with R&D, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing leaders to ensure solutions are scalable, manufacturable, and compliant with FDA, ISO 13485, and other standards

Establish best practices for system verification, validation, and cybersecurity within imaging platforms

Mentor and elevate engineers across the organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation

Build and manage partnerships with academic collaborators, vendors, and external technology partners

Represent Shifamed as a thought leader through patents, publications, and conference presentations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree strongly preferred)

12+ years of experience in medical imaging system design, with a track record of leading complex programs from concept to regulatory clearance

Deep expertise in imaging modalities (e.g., X-ray, MRI, ultrasound) and advanced image processing algorithms

Proficiency in relevant software and system development tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++, VTK, Qt/QML)

Proven experience architecting on-prem as well as cloud-based imaging solutions and integrating AI/ML methods for computer vision and diagnostic applications

Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality frameworks (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601), including cybersecurity best practices

Demonstrated record of innovation, evidenced by patents, publications, or recognized industry contributions

Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align multidisciplinary teams around a shared technical vision
