The Building People is seeking a Deferred Maintenance & Repair (DMR) Engineer to provide full-time engineering support for federal planning, design, and execution of deferred maintenance and recapitalization projects. The DMR Engineer will analyze data, validate project needs, and develop scopes of work, estimates, and schedules while managing federal DMR programs.

Responsibilities

Analyzing BUILDER SMS data
Validating project needs with facility staff
Developing scopes of work, estimates, and schedules for execution
Supporting the overall management of federal DMR programs
Including policy updates
Budget submissions
Facility condition assessments

Qualification

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)Engineering project developmentFacility managementMicrosoft Office proficiencyBudget identificationTechnical writing skillsBuilder SMS familiarityConstruction codes knowledgePMP certification

Required

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering project development or facilities management
At least 1 year of experience supporting federal projects/programs related to facility planning and design
Skilled in developing project packages including scopes of work, cost estimates, justifications, and schedules
Experience with budget identification, cost quantification, and DMR funding submissions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project)
Strong technical writing, reporting, and presentation skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture

Preferred

Familiarity with Builder SMS and facility condition assessment programs
Experience coordinating with Federal stakeholders and managing program-level engineering tasks
Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Advanced degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Professional certifications such as PMP
