Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts monthly, and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain accurate financial records
Develop and deliver a comprehensive presentation to the CEO and leadership team, summarizing key projects, financial insights, and recommendations based on internship work
Collaborate with accounts payable and treasury teams to streamline vendor setup, verify payment accuracy, and ensure timely disbursements
Compile and analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management initiatives, providing actionable insights to senior accountants
Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, such as automating repetitive tasks or improving data entry accuracy, and propose solutions to the Accounting Manager
Assist in preparing documentation and schedules for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Support the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager with special projects, such as financial modeling, variance analysis, or system implementations, as assigned
Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, procurement) to gather financial data and ensure alignment on project budgets and expenditures
Maintain organized records of financial transactions and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, to present findings clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership
Meticulous approach to financial record-keeping and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Willingness to take on new challenges and learn emerging accounting tools or technologies

Preferred

3.5 or higher GPA preferred
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus
