INTERNSHIP ENTRO is seeking consultancy services for a feasibility study on flood management interventions in the Yabus River Catchment and related riverain systems, covering Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Sudan. The role involves developing sustainable flood mitigation solutions, including the establishment of a Flood Forecast and Early Warning System, conducting hydrological studies, and capacity building for local communities.

Responsibilities

Develop sustainable flood mitigation and adaptation solutions in more flood susceptible areas in the Yabus River catchments and associated riverine
Setting up of a Flood Forecast and Early Warning System (FFEWS)
Topography mapping
Hydrological studies
Flood hazard
Exposure, and risk mapping and assessment
Capacity building through increased awareness creation to empower locals to manage climate risks
Identification of locations and specification of floods resilience interventions (including water infrastructure for productive uses linked to floods/drought resilience interventions)

Required

The Consultant Firm should demonstrate experience in conducting floods' assessments, and management plans
The Consultant Firm should demonstrate experience in catchment management plans, including stakeholder engagement, participatory planning as well as hands–on experience in community-based project planning, implementation, capacity building, and management
The Consultant Firm should demonstrate experience in transboundary water issues
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in topographical/hydrometeorological data collection/analysis
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in geo-spatial (GIS/RS) analysis
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in hydrologic modelling of watershed/catchment, and flood plains
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in information management systems
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in watershed/catchment, and flood plain socio-economic analysis
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in flood hazard, exposure, impact, and risk mapping/analysis
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in water resources engineering, and management
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in hydrology
The Consultant's team shall demonstrate experience in Procurement aspects
The Consultant shall be able to demonstrate a sufficiently experienced team of qualified and experienced experts as detailed in the TOR
