They are seeking an Asset Based Finance Associate for their Infrastructure & Asset-Based Credit team, responsible for performing due diligence on investments, building financial models, and monitoring existing investments.

Responsibilities

Perform due diligence on prospective investments within the credit space, with a focus on Structured Credit, including meeting with potential borrowers, doing deep dives on the business, industry/strategy research, financial modeling, and putting together investment materials

Working with other members of the Investment Team to diligence and underwrite investment opportunities, leveraging Blackstone’s various groups where appropriate

Building comprehensive financial models and evaluating various cases and types of deal structures

Drafting and presenting memorandums for Investment Committees

Monitoring existing investments including tracking KPIs and continuously challenging the validity of the investment thesis

Thinking creatively about ways to improve the team’s existing processes

Required

Desire to work in a team environment, often under competing deadlines

Strong financial modeling skills, with past experience modeling and evaluating transactions

Excellent technical proficiency in Excel/VBA

Prior experience preparing presentation materials using PowerPoint

Strong communication skills

Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn

2+ years of relevant work experience at an investment bank (M&A, Leveraged Finance, or other coverage groups), consulting firm, a sell-side structuring or trading desk, or a hedge fund

Preferred

Past Structured Credit experience is helpful, but not required
