Responsibilities
To assist the Director of Public Works with planning, developing, directing, and managing Departmental activities, operations, programs, and services to include Building Services, Civil Engineering, Street Maintenance, Traffic Engineering, Parking Enforcement, Solid Waste Collection and Disposal, and Recycling Services to residents of the City of Little Rock; provides assistance to the Director with the planning and establishment of Departmental short and long range goals
Qualification
Required
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Public Administration or a related area
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering involving the design, construction and maintenance of public works projects OR four (4) years of managerial-level experience in planning and directing public works operations, programs and services
Two (2) years of experience supervising professional and management-level employees
Must possess valid registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) before employment
Must possess registration in the State of Arkansas as a Professional Engineer (PE) within one (1) year of employment
Must maintain registration for the duration of employment in this position
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment
Must maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position
Must be available to work outside of regular business hours to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Must be a resident of the City of Little Rock within ninety (90) days of employment
Must maintain residency for the duration of employment in this position
Benefits
Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision) -The City pays the entire cost of employee only health insurance for the base plan. Higher levels of health coverage and dependent coverage is available at the employee's option; the City pays part of the cost of this additional coverage.
Life Insurance - The City pays the total cost of employee life insurance. Amount of coverage is one to three times salary, based on job classification.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) – The City pays the total cost for employee AD&D. Amount of coverage is one times salary.
Long-Term Disability – The City pays the total cost of long-term disability insurance. Amount of coverage is 60% of salary.
Retirement – Our 401a pension plan requires contributions by both the City and the employee.
