Responsibilities
Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including hardware, system software, applications, and all configurations
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
Install and integrate new server hardware and applications, keeping systems updated with the latest software patches
Administer and maintain virtualized environments (e.g., Hyper-V, Citrix) and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS)
Monitor network performance and security to identify and resolve issues proactively, test for weaknesses, and ensure network availability
Troubleshoot network and system problems reported by end-users, resolving hardware and software issues
Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery operations
Manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords, particularly within Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra
Implement and maintain security measures, including anti-virus, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
Analyze and recommend changes to improve system and network configurations, determining hardware and software requirements
Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of the network and system infrastructure
Qualification
Required
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems
Experience with Linux administration is a plus
Familiarity with Sonicwall or similar networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls)
Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP) and services (DNS, DHCP)
Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies
Experience managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory/Entra
Familiarity with security tools and best practices
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
5+ years of experience in a system or network administration role
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
