The County of Ventura is seeking a Chief Procurement Officer to provide strategic leadership over the County’s centralized procurement operations. The successful candidate will oversee procurement planning, guide policy development, manage a team, and ensure compliance with regulations while fostering relationships with stakeholders and vendors.

Required

Any combination of education and experience, which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills and abilities

A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field

Four (4) years of progressive experience administering/managing public or private procurement functions

Demonstrated experience in or knowledge of supervising and managing staff within a collective bargaining environment

Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders

Preferred

Certified as a Public Procurement Officer, i.e., CPPO or CPP

Extensive experience in public sector procurement

Master's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or closely related field
