ESTAT Actuation is a university startup that specializes in electroadhesives for robotics components. They are seeking a Co-op Mechanical or Industrial Engineer focused on manufacturing to assist with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and streamline their manufacturing processes, including CAD design and part fabrication.

Responsibilities

Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and streamlining our manufacturing processes
CAD design, part fabrication, visits to supplier factories, process redesign, and testing
Present to our contract manufacturers and assist with training their assembly techs

Required

Experience fabricating components
Involvement in FSAE, solar car, robotics club, or similar experience
Great communication skills
Ability to present to contract manufacturers
Assisting with training assembly techs
Experience with CAD design
Experience with part fabrication
Experience with process redesign
Experience with testing
Hands-on assembly and part modification
Experience with engineering drawings
Experience with free body diagrams
Experience with stress analysis
Experience with Matlab
Experience with Python
Experience with data analysis
Experience with component fabrication/manufacturing
Experience with supplier interaction
Documentation and presentation skills
Self-motivated
Experience working with a team towards a goal
Mastery of the basics of their field

Preferred

Juniors and Seniors preferred
Consideration for lower classman with exceptional hands-on experience
Students considering two 6 month rotations
