CT/DX Imaging Technologist (M-F; 3:00pm-11:30pm)) - North Liberty

The University of Iowa Research is seeking an Imaging Technologist for their North Liberty department of Radiology. The role involves performing and teaching specialized diagnostic radiography procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort during exams.

Research

Responsibilities

Perform radiography procedures using a variety of imaging equipment
Operate fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic imaging studies
Provide instruction to trainees, students and other medical staff on operation and safety precautions
Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interactions with patients and staff
Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient
Utilize standard safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment
Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under radiologist’s supervision as required

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or other Allied Health Sciences discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required
Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required
Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required

Preferred

Previous work or clinical education experience in general radiology in a level 1 Trauma center is desired
Recent work or clinical education experience in general radiography is desired
