The role involves reinforcing learning, assisting in classroom management, and participating in workshops to enhance educational outcomes.
Education
Responsibilities
Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities
Participate in required workshops by request of Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director
Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students
Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc
Alerts teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student
Qualification
Required
Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level
Preferred
Successful prior classroom experience or working with students for the appropriate grade levels
