Responsibilities

Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from conception to completion
Develop and review traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and roadway safety audits
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, designers, and construction managers
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders
Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development
Utilize traffic simulation software and other engineering tools to analyze and solve complex traffic issues

Required

BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
California Professional Engineer (PE) license

Preferred

Master's degree
8+ years of experience
Proven track record of working with LADOT and Caltrans
Experience in Traffic Signal Design, Traffic Control, Signing and Striping, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation)
Strong knowledge of traffic control devices, roadway design, and traffic safety principles
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience
Experience in construction phase services
Proven and demonstrated ability to successfully work with diverse teams
Proven track record of successful project delivery
