Project Engineer

SunEnergy1 is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage and support construction projects. The ideal candidate will coordinate with clients and project teams, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and maintaining efficient workflows to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Project Coordination : Support the project manager in overseeing pre-construction and on-site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, schedules, and budgets
Document Management Review and manage project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and schedules, ensuring accurate and timely updates
RFI Processing : Prepare, track, and resolve Requests for Information (RFIs) to address design or construction issues, coordinating with vendors, engineers, and subcontractors
Version Control : Maintain strict version control for project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure all stakeholders work with the latest revisions
Site Inspections : Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards and project requirements
Subcontractor Coordination : Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to troubleshooting any issues with materials and services, resolving any on-site issues
Project Reporting : Generate and distribute progress reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation to keep stakeholders informed
Schedule Management : Assist Project Managers in developing and updating project schedules using tools like Procore or MS Project, identifying potential delays and proposing solutions
Quality Control : Ensure work meets project specifications, building codes, and industry standards through regular quality checks and coordination with QA/QC teams

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
2-5 years of experience as a project engineer in construction, with on-site project management experience
Experience managing RFIs and maintaining version control for project documents
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with diverse teams
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work on-site full-time and travel to project locations as needed
Valid driver's license

Preferred

Experience with PV projects greater than 30MWdc
Experience with Substation and/or Transmission Construction
